Serious Skin Care, What It Involves

Just the phrase serious skin care and your whole system is all ready to ring the alarm. After all, when is the word serious not serious? But one thing that people should realize is that taking care of your skin is serious in itself. There is no need to wait for much damage before getting serious in taking care of the skin.

Whether you have healthy young looking skin or one that is damaged by the sun, you need serious skin care. It is never too early to start worrying about your skin and to find ways to take care of it.

Its all about prevention

Serious skin care should not only involve ways to combat the aging process when it has already settled in but also to prevent the onset of the aging process. One must remember that serious skin care does not just involve a fight but also prevention. This is actually something that people should also inculcate.

Serious skin care does not look for the remedy but for ways to prevent the problem from starting. This means that everything you do from removing your makeup and washing your face to putting different kinds of medication is classified under serious skin care.

Its all about commitment

Serious skin care will not amount to anything without the firm commitment from the people who subscribe to the regimen. This means that there is no room to vacillate. You cannot just start one regimen and then decide to stop after. Consistency is also needed in order to see great results.

This especially true with skin care that aims to prevent the onset of aging. This involves blind faith as you will not be able to see the results of your efforts until after several years when you grow old and everybody around you have wrinkles and you do not.

Its a global process

It is not enough that you just take care of one part of your skin and ignore the other parts. Serious skin care involves every aspect of skin care and encompasses every skin part in our body, from the face to the feet, even to the most hard to reach corners of the body.

This is perhaps the mistake of most people who take care of their faces but largely ignore the legs or the abdomen. They only take care of the parts that are visible. This should not be the case as the entire skin needs taking care of. Every part of the skin ages.

Of course, it is also right that you take extra care more on the parts that are visible as these are the parts that are often exposed to the sun but this does not mean that you will ignore the others.

What are Irritable Bowel Syndrome Treatments

There a number of things one can do to avoid the worsening of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. The first two has something to do with diet and these two are to eat only healthy food and to eat small meals throughout the day instead of large meals. The next one is to check the medicines you are taking because there are cases where the medication for another disorder can cause another disorder. The last one has something to do with outlook or the psychological make-up of the person concerned. Try to live a stress free life by avoiding conflict and emotional upsets. All these things one can do but since Irritable Bowel Syndrome is something that has no known cause, you can still suffer from it even if you do all the things mentioned earlier.

Once sure that you have Irritable Bowel Syndrome, it is time to examine the Irritable Bowel syndrome treatments available for you. There are already a number of over the counter drugs, Imodium or Loperamide being the most popular, but there are other treatments that you can consider especially if you are a woman.

For women with severe Irritable Bowel Syndrome and who does not respond to conventional therapy, there is Alosetron hydrochloride (Lotronex). The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have approved this treatment but even with this approval Lotronex users should be very careful because it can have side effects such as severe constipation or decreased blood flow to the colon. These side effects can be very serious so a doctor should be guiding the patient using the medication.

There is also the Tegaserod maleate (Zelnorm). Another one approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) but this time around for the short-term treatment of women with Irritable Bowel Syndrome whose primary symptom is constipation. Zelnorm is taken for a standard 4 to 6 weeks. If the medication has taken effect already and the patient experiences a decrease in symptoms, the doctor may prescribe Zelnorm for an extended 4 to 6 weeks.

Again, these two treatments should be undergone under the watchful eye of your family doctor or a physician otherwise it can be a dangerous endeavor. Irritable Bowel Syndrome may be incurable for now but Irritable Bowel Syndrome treatments are present and there are many studies going on to improve these treatments so that one day hopefully and finally a cure maybe found.

Low Blood Sugar Cause-Effect

Skipping meals is just one low blood sugar cause you need to avoid. When you skip meals your body is starved for nutrients and doesn’t really know what to do with itself. When your body does not know what to do with itself it will eventually tell you it needs food by sending signals that it needs to eat.

Some symptoms that your body sends out are blurred vision, dizziness, mental confusion, sweating, weakness, and abnormal behavior. When you experience these symptoms the only thing that should enter your mind is to get something to eat to raise your blood sugar as fast as you can.

Hard candy, a glass of milk, or a peanut butter and honey sandwich are all good choices to raise your blood sugar quickly. Peanut butter and honey is my favorite because the honey will bring your blood sugar up quickly and the peanut butter will hold it there. You can also try orange juice with some sugar dissolved into it too. If you do the juice thing you need to make sure you eat something more substantial afterward to keep your blood sugar within normal limits.

Normal levels of blood sugar are supposed to be between 70 and 110 mg/dl. When you consistently fall below the level of 70mg/dl then you are considered hypoglycemic and must get treatment started right away. Hypoglycemia is considered a forerunner of diabetes. Your doctor will no doubt have yoiu start checking your blood sugar and keeping a log every day. After a month or so of keeping this log then he or she will want to see it to see where your blood sugars tend to be at certain times during the day. This will help your doctor personalize a treatment for you.

If you are diabetic, low blood sugar cause may be attributed to your medication. If you have been on the same dose of insulin for some time you need to discuss with your doctor a medication adjustment if you have been having episodes of hypoglycemia especially during the night or first thing in the morning. There are a number of different types of insulin that you can use to control your diabetes.

Other causes that contribute to hypoglycemia are eating too many carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are converted into sugar very quickly after ingesting them and this causes a spike in your blood sugar. With your blood sugar spiking, your pancreas responds by flooding your bloodstream with insulin to take care of the increased sugar level.

The only problem is that the sugar spike caused by carbohydrates is short lived and the amount of insulin pumped into your bloodstream ends up to be too much and when the sugar is metabolized then you are left with a sharply dropping blood sugar and you find you have to eat again very shortly to bring your blood sugar back up.

Eating several small meals throughout your day is the best way to combat and control your low blood sugar problems. No more missing meals, not eating enough at a meal, drinking in excess, or even strenuous exercise can be low blood sugar cause.
